Liverpool are officially the most successful football club in England with more major honours in the trophy cabinet of their famous stadium, Anfield, than any rival. The club was founded in 1892 after local rivals Everton left Anfield to play at Goodison Park. Liverpool's supporters are amongst the most passionate in the world and have adopted the song You'll Never Walk Alone as their anthem which is sung during games and in post-match celebrations. Anfield has a museum dedicated to the club's history and stadium tours are possible. It is recommended to book both in advance.

Everton and neighbours Liverpool contest a fierce but friendly rivalry and while the reds of Liverpool may boast more silverware, Everton, or the Toffees as they are nicknamed, have the distinction of being one of the founder members of the Football League. Former striker Dixie Dean was one of the most lethal the game has ever seen, netting 383 times from 1924 to 1937, visitors can learn about Dixie and other greats on the Goodison Park stadium tour.
